Dog Crates

Dog crates are a necessity to dog ownership and here’s why: they provide security. They make your dog feel more secure, and they make you more secure knowing that when you travel with them no one can get hurt, lost, etc.

Crates make your dog feel safe because as animals in the wild they rely on dens as places for protection. Obviously they’re domesticated, but the instinct to find shelter in a smaller and confined space has stayed with them. Therefore these often become places where you’re dog goes to sleep or any time they feel threatened, and so buying them a crate is providing them with a safe haven.

People are made more secure by having their dogs in crates for travel because it limits their mobility in cars and planes: as much as we love man’s best friend, we can’t have dogs moving freely about the cabin because they could potentially create a dangerous situation.

The single most important thing you can do for your dog when buying them a crate, any crate really, is make sure you provide them with enough room. Your canine’s crate needs to be big enough for them to stand up and turn around with ease.
